NE is a component of the School’s Strategic Thrust on Character Development & we envision our pupils to be aware of the rationale behind celebrating cultural festivals like Chinese New Year and various NE commemorative events like Total Defence Day, Racial Harmony Day, International Friendship Day and National Day etc. It is also about creating an awareness of Singapore as our home & appreciating what we have.

Social Studies – Learning Journeys :
As part of the curriculum in primary school, every pupil will be expected to go on various ‘Learning Journeys’ in National Education at least once a year. These ‘journeys’ would help to reinforce and consolidate what they have learnt in the classroom and strengthen their feelings for and attachments to Singapore.
Objectives of the Learning Journeys:
They are to enable pupils to: understand and appreciate the rich cultural and historical heritage of our people. To help them foster a sense of pride in the rich diversity of our heritage as well as to share a common bond with the different races which will hold our society together as a people and as a nation.
"Learning Journeys" are not relevant to National Education only as our pupils will get a learning experience that is also relevant to other subjects in their curriculum. They will complement what is taught in subjects such as Social Studies, English, Science etc.
