Science

The Science Department envisions each OLGC pupil as “a scientist who cares for the environment” and strives to “promote interest, learning and creativity in Science, through meaningful and enjoyable experiences”.

Programmes are customized for pupils to develop process skills, desirable attitudes, raise awareness and learn about scientific applications in daily life.

Curriculum

Science concepts are taught through inquiry and hands-on activities. The Green Programme is infused into the curriculum. Learning journeys to scientific places of interest are organized to extend pupils’ learning beyond the classroom. Overseas educational trips are planned to expose pupils to different cultures, school systems and learnt more about environmental practices.

 Competition

Pupils are encouraged to participate in competitions to sharpen their analytical thinking, develop perseverance and creativity.

Partnership with Parents

We believe in partnering and enabling parents to help their child succeed in Science. Workshops are organized to share with parents strategies on coaching their child in Science.
