Character and Citizenship Education (CCE)

Vision of Department

To nurture concerned citizens of Grace and Character and who contribute selflessly to society.

Mission of Department

To nurture our pupils to be global, resilient, aware, confident, enterprising and innovative citizens who live in harmony.

The goal of CCE is to inculcate values and build competencies in our students to develop them into good individuals and useful citizens.

OLGC aims to nurture concerned citizens of Grace and Character and who contribute selflessly to society. This aim stems from our belief that character development is the key factor towards the holistic development of our pupils.

CCE emphasizes on cultivating a sense of belonging and emotional rootedness to Singapore. It is part of a holistic education and it aims to develop national cohesion, cultivate the instinct for survival as a nation and instil in our students, confidence in our nation's future. This is achieved through CCE and SS curriculum.

In addition to the 4 core NE events, level learning journeys also infuse CCE components to achieve the CCE outcomes.

Anchored on the school’s core values of GRACE, our Adopted Sisters programme is a programme aimed at developing character and cultivating leadership among the pupils. Through the interaction and bonding of the sisters across different levels, it provides a platform for the girls to mentor and guide their younger peers.
